Boho engagement on the volcanic hills of Transylvania

Sami and Larisa were in a distance relationship for 3 years and they kept traveling between Romania and Vienna to see each other. They are finally getting married this weekend and we couldn't be happier for them.

The sweetest thing they shared with us was the fact that Sami proposed to Larisa on the exact same spot where they interacted for the first time, in Vienna. How awesome is that!

We were honored to have been chosen as their wedding photographers and their engagement shoot gave us the opportunity to know them better and find their story. That is so important to us because it allows us to not only understand the couple dynamics better, but to "see" the shots we want to take even before they take place as a natural continuation of each couple's unique story.

We chose a beautiful location for the photo-shoot on top of a volcanic hill that is not easily accessible, so we had to rent an off-road car to get us there. It was such an adventure for all of us and we shared lots of laughter, stories and honest moments.

The weather was surprisingly good considering the fact that two days before the shoot we had heavy rains; and even if we couldn't get a clear view of the sunset as we've hoped to, the golden light of the sun still passed through some low clouds and allowed us to make the best use of the time of the day.

The light was so good and smooth and we kept shooting until dark when the twinkling lights of the towns below could be seen. That's when we decided to make use of the car as well and got some romantic shots with the two of them in the back of the car. Luckily we always carry our fairy lights with us just in case.

The genuine love these two share is just pouring out of every photo and that is exactly what we are looking for as wedding and couple photographers.

Here’s a short video presentation of the photos above. These two were so cute!
